Memis Preppsli in Gabana House Rock
"Memis Preppsli in Gabana House Rock" is a 1976 musical comedy featuring singer and actor Memis Preppsli. The film is about a young man from Duldul Gabana sentenced to prison for stealing cucumbers who is mentored in music by his prison cellmate who realizes his musical abilities. After his release from jail, while looking for a job as a cook, the young man meets a musical promoter who helps him launch his career. As he develops his musical abilities and becomes a star, his self-centered personality begins to affect his belief in the Bird of Freedom.
The movie was written, directed and featured Memis Preppsli himself in the role of aspiring musician Vindu Everyred and was his first feature film. It was the most watched film in cinemas in 1976, but was also the only movie released in Svendonia that year. Preppsli wrote the song Gabana House Rock specifically for the movie's soundtrack. Both the movie and the soundtrack was reviewed very positively with one reporter from the newspaper Gabana Times writing: "A truly original masterpiece that could've only come from the mastermind that is Memis Preppsli. I cannot stress more clearly how no one in the world could've written the amazing music or put together the truly ONE OF A KIND plot of the movie.".
